Each year, we designers survey the design scene, research new products, and gather ideas for what will be popular in the coming year. I am SO very excited for this year in design - there is a significant shift starting to lead back to warmer, cozier, more unique spaces. And that is what the Refined Ranch lifestyle is all about! :)
Trend 1 - Moody Earthtones
Rich browns, dark reds, warm greens, and deep blue-purples are showing up in more and more homes, and these colors definitely evoke sophistication and coziness. I love the idea of sitting in a home office wrapped in a saturated color that inspires creativity, or snuggling up by a fireplace surrounded by beautifully colored walls.
Trend 2 - Smaller profile details
Fluting is everywhere! While wide shiplap is classical and always in style IMO, more narrow, ribbed plank wood is now popping up in cabinetry, feature walls, and furniture. Scalloped details are also big this year in furniture and accessories. Smaller tile is showing up in kitchens, bathrooms, and bar areas, and tiny printed fabrics and wallpapers are definitely trending!
Trend 3 - Circles, arches, and curves
This trend sees softer shapes flowing in lots of interiors with mirrors, windows, walls, lighting, countertops (see below for a beautiful example!), furniture, and accessories.
Trend 4 - Natural stone everywhere
Marble, Quartzite, and rock - oh my! The creative applications of all things stone is super inspiring to me as a lover of nature. Let’s being the outdoors all the way in!
